Danny Handwork was 15 when he started mowing lawns. Today that work is a full landscaping company serving homes, businesses, and public properties across Northeast Georgia.
Grown From the Same Roots
Danny Handwork was just 15 years old when he started mowing lawns. One yard turned into a few, a few turned into a regular route, and neighbors kept recommending the kid who showed up when he said he would and left every yard looking sharp.
He never stopped. The mowing grew into beds and plantings, then stone work, drainage, and full landscape installs. Along the way Danny noticed what was missing in the local market: landscapers who sweat the details, and who are licensed to handle the weed control that keeps a landscape looking good long after the install. He built Hanco Lawn & Landscaping to be exactly that.
The habits from those first lawns still run the company. Show up when you say you will. Do it right even when nobody's checking. Treat every customer's yard like it's your own. Danny is still on job sites and still answers his phone, and when you call, you're talking to a family business that grew one yard at a time.

Dan Handwork
Danny started mowing lawns at 15 and turned it into the company you see today. He's the idea-person and strategic mind behind every service Hanco Lawn & Landscaping offers, and he built it around two things the area was missing: real attention to detail and licensed weed control. He's still on job sites, and he still answers his phone.
Drew Deitz
Drew leads day-to-day field operations for the landscape division. Known for his reliability and strong work ethic, he makes sure every crew works to the Hanco standard, from grade checks and base compaction to the final cleanup, and that every client knows what's happening on their property.
Mike Handwork
Founder
June 30, 1970 – August 14, 2014
Mike founded Hanco in 2002 after years in pest management and service as a Structural Pest Compliance & Enforcement Inspector with the Georgia Department of Agriculture. He built the company on a simple idea: its success depended on the integrity with which it treated every client.
Mike and Jessica were married for twenty years and raised five sons. The landscape division his family runs today carries his standard forward: treat every customer like family, and do the job right even when nobody's looking.
